Shutdowns here have targeted mobile data, not fixed lines
In November 2021 Burkina Faso's Ministry of Communication ordered mobile internet cut for 96 hours after protests, then extended the order by another 96 hours. Fixed lines and wifi were largely unaffected. NetBlocks recorded further disruptions in January 2022. An eSIM rides the mobile networks, so it goes down with them; wifi has been the fallback.
