Moving a Vietnamese SIM into a second phone suspends it
Circular 08/2026/TT-BKHCN treats a device change as a trigger. When a number appears in a handset it was not registered on, the operator has two hours to act. Outgoing calls and messages are suspended until the owner passes facial biometric re-verification. Enforcement of the device-change rule began on 15 June 2026. Reports differ on how long the owner then has before the number is barred both ways and terminated. The rule is written for numbers registered with Vietnamese operators. The practical effect is that a local SIM you meant to move into a spare phone or a travel hotspot stops working.
Will it work on your phone?
iPhone XS or newer, and most Android handsets from the last few years. If your phone is locked to a carrier it has to be unlocked first, and that is true of any eSIM, including ours.

Where do I buy an eSIM for Vietnam?

Do I keep my own number?
Yes. Boring eSIM runs alongside the SIM already in your phone, so calls, texts, WhatsApp and iMessage stay on your usual number. The eSIM only carries data.
What does unlimited actually mean?
Unlimited data for every day on your plan. There is no gigabyte allowance to run down and no add-on to buy when it runs out, because it does not run out. When the days end, the plan ends.
How is it priced?
Pick a destination and the exact number of days, from 1 to 30, and the app shows one price for that trip in your currency: USD, EUR, GBP, TRY, JPY, AUD, CAD or AED. That price is what you pay. Nothing else is added.
What happens when my days run out?
Nothing happens on its own. There is no contract and no auto-renew. Add more days in the app, or leave it and carry on with your normal SIM.
Can I use one plan in more than one country?
Each plan covers its own destination. If you are crossing several countries, buy a plan for each, or add more days to the one you are using. Everything is done in the app.
